Welcome to first grade! I am excited to go on the journey into full-day school life with your child this year! I know they will stretch and grow in many incredible ways, and it is my privilege to partner with you to make it the most enjoyable time it can be. Please let me know if you have questions or concerns about first grade so we can more effectively address your child's needs in this special time of their life.
About Me:
I am a 1986 graduate of Wheaton College, and currently working on a Master's Degree in Curriculum & Instruction with ESL from Concordia University Chicago. I have taught in some capacity for over 26 years, including preschool, Kindergarten, first and third grade. This is my 12th year in District 200. First grade is my favorite! I love the opportunity to build a strong foundation in a new reader/writer/math thinker. I married Mark, my college sweetheart, in 1986. We have 4 children: James (17), Amy (14), Josh (12) and Sara (10), and a golden retriever, Buddy. We live in South Elgin, near St. Charles, where Mark works at Christ Community Church as the CFO. I enjoy being outdoors, walking with friends, reading, music, and a good cup of coffee or McDonalds' Sweet Tea! I look forward to getting to know your child and family as we work together this year. |
