Madison Elementary School Mission:

as a community focused on the needs and dignity of children, is to ensure that
all of our students become self-directed learners, to empower them to be

involving and valuing the student, the family, the community, and the staff of
our school.

district that is highly regarded for the competence and character or our

District 200 Mission:
Our mission is to inspire, educate, challenge, and support
all students to reach their highest level of learning and personal development.
Madison Elementary School History:
Madison Elementary opened its doors in
1964, under the leadership of principal Mr. William Stone. Following the tenure
of Principal Stone, Mr. Gene Sikorski began his tenure as Madison's principal, serving 23 years. During
that time, Madison
was renovated and expanded, providing additional classrooms, two large
gymnasiums, an updated library-learning center, an art room, a music room,
conference rooms, and other support areas. It now encompasses 7 acres with an
adjacent park on its western edge. Upon Principal Sikorski's retirement in
2009, Madison
welcomed its third principal, Mr. Tim Callahan.
The Madison
school community includes approximately 440 students for the 2009-2010 school
year and is one of thirteen elementary schools in Wheaton/Warrenville Community
Unit School District 200. There are four middle schools for children in sixth
through eighth grade and two high schools. The total student enrollment of the
district is over 14,000 students. Students living in the Madison
attendance area will attend Edison Middle School and Wheaton-Warrenville South
High School.
