Board Goals 2006-07

Vision/Mission 
Communicate and distribute the vision and mission statement for District 200 throughout our facilities and the community. Ensure that each facility, including the Central Office and our maintenance facility, develop strategies for "bringing to life" the Vision and Mission Statement in their operations.

Superintendent Search
Identify and contract with a new superintendent to begin work in the district beginning July 1, 2007.

Curriculum Goal
All students will develop the appropriate strategies to read successfully in the content areas at their designated instructional levels. The implementation of these strategies should result in increased student achievement as measured by a broad range of academic indicators including, but not limited to a 3% increase in overall performance on local and state reading assessments.

Communications
The Board of Education will identify and utilize additional opportunities for Board Members to dialogue with the community in order to receive information and provide feedback about District 200, its programs and services.

Hubble Middle School
Continue efforts to secure land on which to build a new middle school in the southwest part of the District, and present a referendum to the community to fund the building of the new school at the earliest reasonable opportunity.

District Finances
Develop a long term financial plan to aid in the implementation of the Vision and Mission Statement.
