Kindergarten Registration Set In District 200 Schools
Orientation meetings for the parents of children who will be starting kindergarten in the 2006-07 school year are scheduled during March in District 200's thirteen elementary schools. Students who will be five years old on or before September 1, 2006, are eligible to attend kindergarten.
Kindergarten round-ups are held in each school for parents only. The occasion gives parents the opportunity to meet the principal, the school's kindergarten teacher(s) and to get acquainted with the kindergarten program. Opportunities for children to visit the school are provided later in the spring in each of the schools.
Parents are asked to bring the following information to the round-up:
1. The child's registered birth certificate--the one issued by the county or state of the child's birth. Birth certificates may be obtained from the Office of Vital Statistics in the county or state where the child was born.
2. The child's social security number.
3. Proof of residency in District 200 should be provided in three forms as indicated below:
One from the list below:
| |
Real Estate Tax Bill Property Sales Agreement
Lease Agreement Mortgage Agreement
|
Those who live with someone else must present one of the above from the owner/lessee with whom they live.
AND

Students entering kindergarten are also required to have physical examinations and a number of immunizations before school begins in August. These requirements will be explained during the round-ups.
Parents who are unable to attend the orientation meetings are asked to call the school their child will attend to add their name to the kindergarten mailing list.
