Parent University 2006 Planned with Nationally Known Presenters
Experts in anxiety disorders, family relationships, educational counseling, and behavior management are among the presenters at District 200’s Parent University 2006 on October 21. Parents of students of all ages are invited to attend this annual event, sponsored by District 200 social workers, and supported by nationally recognized speakers whose life work is focused on helping young people succeed in school and in life.
Those attending may choose from three workshops in each of three, one-hour sessions that begin at 8 a.m. and continue throughout the morning at Monroe Middle School, 1855 Manchester Road, Wheaton. Information on the sessions is described below, along with a registration form. The cost is $15 for a single participant and $20 per couple. Among the presenters at Parent University 2006 are: Patrick McGrath, psychologist, clinical manager of anxiety services at Linden Oaks Hospital in Naperville; Scott Johnson, pediatric clinician at Marianjoy Hospital in Wheaton; Michael Litow, educator, counselor and founder of the Education Center in Naperville; Michael Maniacci, clinical psychologist, and professional speaker; Margaret Salyer, licensed clinical counselor in private practice; Mary Cortes, social worker with a specialty in child grief consulting; and Jackie Croci, social worker with a background in behavior intervention.
