Wheaton North Opens New Field House for Public Use
The newly constructed field house at Wheaton North High School is now open for public use during limited weekday hours. Residents may use the track between 5 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday on non-game days. Closings will be posted on Door #7 during the day of an event. At this time, the track is closed to the public on weekends.
Visitors are asked to use the parking lot near Door 7, the field house entry, on the west side of the building. The field house is at the northwest corner of the school. Since there are a limited number of parking spaces available, visitors are asked to vacate the lot as soon as the track closes at 6:30 a.m.
Only gym shoes with rubber soles are permitted on the track; cleats are not allowed. Pets, food, beverages, and strollers are not allowed in the field house.
The field house, constructed as part of the 2003 referendum project, provides space for daily physical education classes, athletic practices and events, and other school and community activities. The field house at Wheaton Warrenville South High School will be completed this spring. The track will be available for public use at that time.
