Development Options for Hubble Property

One of the questions surrounding the relocation of Hubble Middle School to the southwest part of the school district relates to what would happen to the existing site at Main Street and Roosevelt Road. While the District has authority to sell the property, it has no decision making rights in determining how the property would be developed. That responsibility lies with the City of Wheaton. As word has spread that the property could come on the market, the District has been contacted by several developers who have shown interest in creating a multi-use project on the site. Each of the developers we have talked with spoke of plans that go well beyond the typical strip mall and townhouse construction. So that people may understand the potential for development on the site, we are providing one business’s conceptual plan for the existing Hubble site. Please understand this is only a concept. Any plan for the property would have to be approved by the City of Wheaton and no such plans have been presented to them at this time.
