Parents and Residents Invited to Assist in Superintendent Search
Parents and members of the District 200 community are invited to share their expectations for the next superintendent at 7 p.m. Monday, October 23 in the Board Room of the School Service Center. Representatives from Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates, Ltd., a Glenview consulting firm, will be on hand to hear what qualities and characteristics residents want in their next superintendent.
The consultants will also share comments they heard during a two-day visit to the District in September. At that time they talked with various employee groups and PTA representatives, who completed a leadership profile survey the firm used in developing a draft document to use as they screen and interview candidates to succeed Gary T. Catalani, who is retiring in June. Click here to view the draft criteria and the Leadership Profile Report based on the surveys and group discussions.
The Board of Education asked the firm to conduct another meeting especially for parents and community members so that the final list of criteria will represent the views of the entire District 200 community.
“Although the meeting is open to anyone who would like to attend, we especially hope parents and residents without children in the schools will take the time to talk with our consultants about the their expectations for the new superintendent,” Board President Andy Johnson said. Community members may complete the leadership profile survey at the meeting or click here to download a copy to mail directly to the consultants.
