District 200  Breaking News!

Swine Flu Precautions
- Updated 5/4/2009

In response to the heightened national awareness of Swine Flu, our health services staff has been in contact with area and national authorities to keep informed and formulate the appropriate district response. We believe that knowledge and precautions are our best resources. We have implemented a district surveillance system for illnesses and flu symptoms in all of our schools and communicate routinely with the DuPage County Health Department.

As District 200 communicates with the Health Department to track cases of the flu and other illnesses you can help us in the process. If you are reporting an absence for your child please describe the symptoms they are experiencing. The DuPage County Health Dept is recommending that students or adults with flu like symptoms, fever, extreme fatigue, persistent cough, runny nose/nasal congestion, sore throat, nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea should stay home for seven (7) days from the onset of symptoms.

We have attached a Swine Flu fact sheet distributed by the DuPage County Health Dept. We have included the standard precaution sheet that outlines steps that will help prevent the spread of germs.

Additional information can be found at the DuPage County website at www.protectdupage.org.
The Open Illinois Hotline for information about the H1N1 flu (swine flu) will operate daily from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. The hotline phone numbers are 866-848-2094 for English and
