Board Postpones Calendar Adoption

The Board has postponed the adoption of the 2005-06 student calendar until February 23, but the major features of the proposed calendar will not change. The start and end dates and the winter and spring breaks will remain as proposed. A decision on the entire calendar was delayed because of a suggestion to hold two full day inservice activities during the year instead of four half day programs. Moving to the two, full day inservices will continue the District’s effort to increase the number of five day weeks in the school calendar. The full day inservices are proposed for Tuesday, October 11, following the Columbus Day holiday and Tuesday, February 21 following the President’s Day holiday. This change would not reduce student contact time, but would reduce the number of days students are actually in school. Comments on this proposed change in inservice days may be directed to communications@cusd200.org. Click here to view the proposed calendar with the two full day inservice days.
