Pat Mahler is working on a project with the second graders to design a quilt of a garden scene with butterflies, plants and sunflowers. Pat will help the students draw and add color to the butterflies using small pieces of fabric. The Monarch butterfly, the state butterfly of Illinois will be emphasized. This will tie in well with the second grade biology unit on butterflies and moths.
