3rd Grade

The 3rd graders are working with Mrs. Mahler on making quilts about the history of Wheaton.  As part of the curriculum, 3rd graders study about how Wheaton began.  Each 3rd grader has chosen a scene from the beginning days of Wheaton.  These scenes have been drawn onto muslin squares that will become part of a class quilt.  At the bottom of the scene is a written account of the historical scene.

Planning a scene of Wheaton sure can be fun!

It takes a lot of concentration to get the illustration right.

Mrs. Mahler can always help us when we are stuck.

We use a light to help us trace onto muslin squares for the quilt.
