Underground Railroad
Quilt Project
Fourth grade is very excited about being the Core Group for Mrs. Mahler. The children have read the novel, The Story of Harriet Tubman: Freedom Train, by Dorothy Sterling. Each student is designing an original quilt square using muslin and textile paints to produce a quilt based on the book. Students will also incorporate a brief piece of writing about the illustration in the lower section of the square.
