Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Danielle Nigro
I am entering my 14th year within the education system. I obtained my Bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University, my Master’s degree from Concordia University and my Director of Special Education endorsement from St. Francis University. I started my career at Lyons Elementary School District 103 in their self contained cross categorical program educating Emotional Behavior Disorder. After a year a jumped over to the LaGrange Area Department of Special Education (LADSE). I spent the majority of my career within LADSE’s self contained Multi Needs elementary classroom (10 years). After the 10 years, I switched positions within LADSE and took on the team teacher role providing service to all programs within the LADSE cooperative (CD ECE, Multi Needs, CD, ED, Phono, Project SEARCH). So needless to say my heart is with the self contained population but have experience within all domains.
Outside the work world I am a family person. I reside within the area with my husband and two sons. I love spending time with my family learning and growing together. This past summer we enjoyed a short little vacation to Lake Geneva, WI at the Timber Ridge Resort Hotel.
Although my family enjoys our quiet time together, we also enjoy volunteering and getting to know the community. My sons, although still too young, and my husband share an interest in volunteering for the Elite Stars Special Olympic organization with me. They support our athletes and enjoy attending the different events and competitions in which we participate in.
Student Service Secretary Diana Intrizai has all answers regarding transportation. She can discuss bus routes, pick up/ drop off times. If there are further concerns she will direct you to the correct personnel.
