• Overview
All students visit the library at least once a week and have the opportunity to select and check out books. Kindergarteners check out one book.  First and second graders may check out two books at a time, while students in grades 3, 4 and 5 may check out three books at a time.  Students may place a book on hold that is unavailable at the time they are looking for it. When the book comes back in to the LLC, it will be checked out to that student and delivered to them.
In addition to students regularly scheduled check-out time, students are always welcome to come to the LLC to find a book when they need one and often visit the LLC to research topics based on classroom assignments and projects. We love to see students using and enjoying  the LLC!

No fines are assessed for overdue books. If a book is lost or damaged beyond repair, the student will be asked to pay for the replacement cost of the book.

All grade levels visit the library for lessons with the librarian that are integrated, curriculum based and address Illinois State Standards. These lessons encourage higher order thinking skills and problem solving strategies, as well as literature appreciation. Students in kindergarten through second grade have 30 minutes of library time at a set time each week. Students in grades 3-5 are on a flexible schedule and the instructional time varies from week to week. The classroom teacher and the librarian plan the lessons collaboratively. In addition, these students have a set weekly book check out time.
