It's Week of Learning for our teachers!
Yesterday kicked off District 200's Week of Learning for staff. For the past two days, and again for two days next week, more than 300 teachers and staff members participate in various professional development classes - all on their own time.
Taught by fellow expert teachers and administrators, classes offered include Google Buddies, Classroom Management, Google Apps for Education, Math Talk, Classroom Differentiation, Creating Visual Learning and much, much more. Popular courses include how to use new technology to engage students in creating and collaborating as well as looking at the ever changing future and how to best prepare our students for it.
Assistant Superintendent for Educational Services Faith Dahlquist is thrilled with the number of staff who have volunteered their time to learn some of the best practices in instruction. "Week of Learning is a great time for teachers to gather and share ideas, knowledge and applications that are already working within our system. It's a chance to think and plan with other educators before the start of the school year," says Dahlquist.

Update on ParentVue
Throughout this past week, we understand that a number of parents had difficulty accessing ParentVue either through the ParentVue app, and on occasion, through one of the school websites. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Last weekend, during some routine upgrades and maintenance, a piece of hardware failed. While we corrected and re-routed links from our websites, the ParentVue app did not function and on a few instances, parents received error messages. We replaced the failed hardware last night and access to ParentVue via the school websites and ParentVue app are fully functioning.
Again, we apologize for any inconvenience or frustration this may have caused you. Thank you for your patience.
