Parent Advisory Committee
A committee of multilingual learner parents, community members, and CUSD 200 staff meet to discuss issues of importance to multilingual learners and their families. The committee has addressed such topics as how to help their children be more successful at school, adult ESL classes, immigration laws and regulations, transitioning from the middle schools to the high schools, and course expectations.
Spanish Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee (BPAC)
The Spanish BPAC is open to parents with students’ enrolled in the English Learner (EL) Program at a CUSD 200 bilingual site. The committee assists in making decisions around family involvement and programming. BPAC strives to encourage family participation and advocate for excellence in all programs serving multilingual learners at CUSD 200. The District employs individuals who are bilingual in English and another language to help communicate with families during parent meetings, at parent/teacher conferences, and through phone calls.
