    April 4 Referendum FAQs  invest200
On April 4, 2017, voters will see a referendum question on the ballot.

We are seeking voter approval to issue $132.5 million in bonds to help finance needed repairs, renovations and upgrades to 19 of our 20 schools.

The proposed bond measure would initially cost the owner of a median home an additional $180 per year in taxes on the Bond & Interest portion of their tax bill.

On our website, community members can find answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs) like:
    • What projects are included in the April 4 Referendum plan?
    • Why do we need to renovate our schools now?
    • How will the referendum plan be financed?
    • What happens if the referendum isn't approved? What is “plan B”?
    • How will future capital needs be addressed?
    • Why is there so much work that needs to be done?
    • How do our tax rates compare to other districts?
Community members with questions are encouraged to join us at an upcoming Coffee House on Tuesday, March 14 from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. at Hubble Middle School or on Friday, March 17 from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. at Edison Middle School. Can't make it to a Coffee House? Contact us at communications@cusd200.org or 630-682-2469 and we'll be happy to schedule a meeting or answer questions.

Support District 200 Cares & Contribute to Mobile Food Pantries
For the last year and a half through the generosity of the Wheaton Rotary, we have been fortunate to host a monthly mobile food pantry for District 200 families in in need. We have enough funding to cover pantries through June 2017.

You can help sustain the mobile food pantries and support hungry kids in District 200 by getting involved with Team District 200 Cares through the Northern Illinois Food Bank's Foodie 5K. Join parent Terese Janik on Team District 200 Cares. All funds raised through the team will support food programs for District 200 kids.
