• PACE Testing Schedule 2019-2020



    Fall testing for new move-in students interested in qualifying for PACE Reading and Math will be hosted from 9 to 11:30AM at the School Service Center, 130 W Park Ave, Wheaton, IL.  August 8 (math) and August 9 (reading). Interested parents need to fill out Parent Referral forms located on the Gifted Education website and return the completed copies to the PACE office by August 5, 2019.  


    Spring Testing for ALL 2nd graders will take place during the first 2 weeks in February.  Classroom teachers will be using the Cognitive Abilities Test.  Exact Days/Times will be determined by individual schools.  


    Spring Testing for students who have been referred for testing, 2nd grade by CogAT testing scores and 3rd - 5th graders by Parent or Teacher referral (3rd - 5th grade Parent referrals are due to the PACE office by January 10, 2020) will be tested in March. Second grade students who meet the CogAT requirements from the previous month's test will be given Iowa Assessments.  3rd - 5th grader will be given both CogAT and Iowa Assessments. Testing dates and times will be assigned by individual elementary schools.  Results will be made available in May.


    Middle School

    Fall testing for new move-in students (grades 6th - 8th) interested in qualifying for Fast Paced Language Arts and/or Fast Paced Math will be hosted from 9 to 11:30 AM at the School Service Center, 130 W Park Ave, Wheaton, IL.  Presently the mornings of August 6 (FPM) and August 7 (FPLA) are set aside for testing and meeting with a proctor.  All Parents will need to fill out a referral for the subject(s) interesting in testing, found on the Gifted Education page of the website. Referrals are due to the PACE office August 5, 2019.


    Middle School spring testing for PACE will be made available in February.  Parents are asked to turn in Fast Paced Language Arts or Fast Paced Math referrals to the PACE office by January 10, 2020 due date. PACE testing will be held in the spring.  Specific dates and times will be determined by your child's school.   Results will be made available in May.


    (Entering 8th-grade students whose scores initially qualify for FPM will ALSO need to complete and pass a High School Algebra 1 Class (summer school) AND CUSD200 Algebra Local Assessment before finally qualifying for 8th grade Fast Paced Math for the following school year.)
