• Let Me Introduce Myself...

My name is Jessica Novakowski. I LOVE being a teacher, especially at Johnson. I am 34 years old and have been teaching at Johnson for eleven years. I have taught Kindergarten for nine years, grade for one year, and now I  am so excited to be a Math Specialist!

I am from Kentucky, thus I got my undergraduate degree from Western Kentucky University and my first Masters from Eastern Kentucky University. I taught one year in Kentucky with a second/third grade split class and then I met my husband. I soon found myself packing up my things and moving to Illinois to be with him. Thankfully, I found a job at Johnson and felt so welcome right when I walked in.

I've always LOVED teaching math and learning about the best ways to teach kids the understanding and rationale of number sense, so I decided to complete another Masters in Math Education. I obtained my second Masters from National Louis in Math Education almost two years ago.
I am married to another teacher (who teaches at Wheaton Warrenville South High School), and we have three kids. Our son, Raymond, is 5 years old and loves anything about superheroes and Legos. Our daughter, who is 3 (going on thirteen), is such a fun, free spirit and loves to sing and be outside. Finally, our youngest is four months old, and her name is Claire. We had a wonderful summer spending nice family time together.

I am truly blessed to have an amazing family here at Johnson and of course a wonderful, supporting family at home.
