Are you interested in helping to improve our environment with cleaner air, water, and land? Environmental Club helps to preserve the planet one meeting at a time. Where else can you say you spent your time saving the world?!? Students recycle, plant trees/plants, do environmental cleanups, take fun field trips, promote environmental issues within the community, and do fundraisers to support the environment. If you want to have fun and feel good about improving the environment for Mother Earth, people and animals, Environmental Club is for you! There is no activity fee and this is a great club to meet new friends who also work to preserve our planet!
    • to stay current on environmental issues and procedures which preserve/improve the environment
    • to foster active participation in environmental clean-ups, restoration projects and recycling
    • to educate others about environmental issues

Environmental Club will be an integral asset of the community which, through environmental leadership and adoption of best practice, achieves and enhances a healthy natural environment.

What does Environmental Club do for Wheaton North?
We provide the entire school with recycling bins for paper, cans and bottles.
We provide fresh, filtered water stations to reduce the number of bottles that end up in landfills.
We collect old batteries and make sure they do not end up in landfills.
We do community garbage clean-ups around WNHS campus and Gary Avenue (adopted by WNHS).
We promote a lifestyle of being green and raise awareness about environmental issues that affect us all.
January 2014 - 4th water bottle refilling station was installed in the PE/athletics section of the school just outside the wrestling room.
November 2013 - 3rd water bottle refilling station was installed in the 300 wing of the school directly across from the library.
March 2013 - 2nd Water Bottle Refill Station was installed and MORE bottles are being saved from landfills.
February 2013 - Introduced Wheaton North's first "Water Bottle Refill Station!" Reduce the amount of water bottles that end up in landfills.
