• Delta Epsilon Phi, the German Honor Society, is a national education fraternity.  Its purpose is to recognize scholarship in the study of German and promote interest in the language and culture of the German-speaking countries.  Students who have completed at least 3 semesters of German with an A-average (or better) are eligible for induction in the spring.  Annual events include Wheaton North's Oktoberfest, and the Fasching/Karneval celebration in late winter.  Meetings usually take place before school, depending on the schedules of members and officers.

Membership is achieved by meeting the national criteria:  (1)  Completed 3 semesters of German with an average of 3.6 or better (on a 4.0 scale),  (2)  GPA in all courses must be B or better,  (3) be taking German the semester s/he is inducted,  (4) attend the initiation ceremony in March.
