Degrees and Certifications:

B.S. in Elementary Education [Northern Illinois University, 2012] M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction with Advanced Professional Specializations [National Louis University, 2021]

Ms. Angela Sheppard

I have earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education degree from Northern Illinois University with teaching endorsements in Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. Additionally, I completed a Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction with Advanced Professional Specializations from National Louis University, including endorsements in English as a Second Language (ESL) and Teacher Leadership.

I have been lucky to have been teaching in CUSD 200 for many years now. I completed my student teaching with Mrs. Shibley in the fall of 2012 and then went on to cover a long-term substitute leave in Mrs. Koenig's third-grade classroom the following spring. Prior to teaching fifth grade, I taught the PACE program (Program for Accelerated Curriculum & Enrichment) at Washington from 2012-2014. I joined the fifth-grade team in the fall of 2014 and have absolutely LOVED it. I say with great confidence that fifth graders are the funniest breed of people in existence. We accomplish great things in just one year together, but we also spend plenty of time making hilarious memories.

When I'm not teaching, there are a few ways that I enjoy spending my time such as attending trivia competitions with some of my fellow Washington teachers. My family and I try to visit a new restaurant together every other week. My friends are the best at planning weekend excursions; we like to try new and adventurous things! Sometimes I just need a bit of "me" time, so I binge Netflix shows while finishing jigsaw puzzles in the company of my two cats - Tilikum and Iggy.

Below are some of my favorite pictures of my favorite people.
