Mrs. Hrunek has taught 5th grade at Washington School since 2006. She also coaches Kids in Motion, a running program for 5th grade girls and boys in the spring. Mrs. Hrunek loves to run, sing, play her ukulele, and make song parodies using 5th grade content. In a previous life, she also loved participate in local musical theater during the summer and create decorative cupcakes. Her favorite part of her job is seeing the growth her students make throughout the year.

 

Mrs. Hrunek has a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish from North Central College. She has a reading masters from Aurora University and is a certified reading specialist. Currently, Mrs. Hrunek is working to complete an ELL endorsement through National Louis University. Mrs. Hrunek lives in St. Charles with her husband Jason, 10 year old son Evan, 6 year old son Henry, and 15 year old Puggle, Ozzie .
