• K-2: This curriculum consists of equipment themes which will be used to guide all teaching in meeting the Illinois State Goals and Critical Content set forth by the district. Each theme lasts approximately a week and will be repeated multiple times throughout the year. During each theme, each state standard and its critical content will be worked on and practiced. The focus of the lessons/activities will be that of single skill practice and development and the exploration/introduction to the many different aspects of physical education. These themes include: scarves, yarn balls, hula-hoops, dance, bean bags, bag boards, mats, parachute, bowling pins, stability balls, roller skating, stair steppers, balloons and gator balls. Along with these themes, many other types of equipment will be used to assist in the activities.

    Each class consists of a warm up and cool down along with 1-2 content activities designed to maximize
    practice and skill development.



    3-5: This curriculum consists of sport themes which will be used to guide all teaching in meeting the Illinois State Goals and Critical Content set forth by the district.  Each sports theme will last 1-2 weeks allowing for each to be repeated multiple times throughout the year. During each theme, each state standard and its critical content will be worked on and practiced to develop skill mastery. During each theme, the focus is
    practicing the combination of skill development and team game/activity play (sports). These themes include: soccer, golf, lacrosse, baseball, lacrosse, football, basketball, pickle ball, bowling, dance, hockey, bags toss, volleyball, stability balls, roller skating, stair steppers, health/fitness, frisbee golf and many more.

    All Fridays are “Fitness Fridays” with every other Friday incorporating some sort of running including mile,
    partner runs, etc.  The other Fridays will consist of circuit/station work where muscular strength, endurance,
    flexibility, range of motion, and cardiovascular endurance will be worked on in order to learn about life-long fitness.
