Mrs. Sarah Sammarco
Hi! I’m Mrs. Sammarco! I am so thrilled that you are in my second grade class this year! We are going to learn so many new and exciting things together. This is my tenth year at Lincoln and my eighth-year teaching second grade. As you can tell, I love teaching second grade!
I grew up in Glen Ellyn and went to Elmhurst College for my undergraduate degree. After Elmhurst College, I taught in London, England for a year and returned home to begin my career in District 200. I completed my Master’s Degree in Curriculum Instruction from Concordia University. My husband, Dan, and I just welcomed a son this past year. The three of us enjoy going on walks with our dog, Frank.
Teaching has always been a passion for me. I have a love for learning and I hope you do as well! I think it is very important to work together as a classroom family. We will be spending a lot of time together so it is important to treat each other with respect, kindness and compassion. I know each of you have a different brain, which means you think and learn differently. It is my job as your teacher to help you grow as a life long learner.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy running outside, baking sweet treats for my friends and family, and traveling. My husband and I enjoy exploring new countries and learning about their cultures. I also love fly fishing with my dad and sister.
