Welcome to Madison Elementary School, a community of lifelong learners. We serve roughly 450 students from kindergarten through fifth grade. Our purpose, in collaboration with parents and our community, is to provide a safe learning environment, in which, every student can and will reach every academic, social and emotional success possible. We strive to help students develop and learn necessary skills while enjoying their educational process through active participation, technology resources, and research based instructional practices.
Madison students participate in the arts and physical education as well. All students participate daily in a physical education program. Students in all day kindergarten and first through fifth grade also receive instruction in vocal music and art each week. In addition to the weekly music class, many of our older students elect to participate in our school chorus as well. Fifth grade students can choose to participate in orchestra or band. All three of these music groups host performances throughout the school year.
Our Library Learning Center (LLC) offers students a place to check out books, conduct research, and use technology in many ways. Students access the LLC during whole class times, with small study groups, and as individuals. Students access computers and other devices both in their classrooms and in the LLC in order to extend, support, and demonstrate learning.
At Madison Elementary, students are treated to many fantastic special events throughout the school year, many that would not be possible without the help of our fabulous PTA. Multicultural Day, Explore More Day, Meet and Treat, three special class parties, the Winter Carnival and the Reflection contest are just a few of the special events that students look forward to throughout the school year. Students also participate in PTA supported clubs like Math Club, Chess Club, and others.
I hope this website provides a snapshot of our school, community, programs, and staff. Please contact our school office if we can be of any assistance in your quest to learn more about the great ways that our staff and parents work together to inspire in everyone a passion to excel.
