Degrees and Certifications:
I have been teaching orchestra in District 200 since 2004. Prior to that, I taught band and orchestra in Elmwood Park, IL, and directed orchestras in Charleston, South Carolina. For 14 years, I taught Suzuki violin, viola, and cello at Wheaton College, and directed orchestras and coachied chamber ensembles. I was lucky to have lessons with Dr. Suzuki starting during my high school years, and I count him as a major influence in my style and philosophy of teaching. In fact, my involvement in music has opened many doors and opportunities I would not have had otherwise! I believe that all students can learn to play a musical instrument, and that music is a universal language.
I love working in District 200. This community is so supportive of education, the arts, and each other. I treasure every day that I work with students here!
