    I received my B. S. in Physical Education from Illinois State University and Masters from Northern Illinois University in P.E. Curriculum & Pedagogy.  I have an M.S.  Degree in Health Education from NIU as well.  I teach freshmen physical education, sophomore health education and responding to emergencies and enjoy developing the curriculum for these subject areas.  In 2019, the WWS P.E. department was awarded the IAHPERD Blue Ribbon Award for excellence in Health Education.  I was also honored with the ISHA Health Education Teacher of the Year in 2020.

    I began my career here at WWS in 2001.  I have been a mentor for students involved in the Early Intervention program.  I also am a member of the Hall of Fame and Democracy Committees here at South and am involved in a few professional organizations outside of school.  I have been the varsity girls’ gymnastics coach for over 20 years and am proud to be a Tiger!
