Dear Bower Families,
Even though it seems like this winter will never end and it’s hard to believe that March is here already, spring is just around the corner.
Things seem to be going better in the parking lot before and after school during drop off and pick up times. If you have not had the opportunity, I ask that you please review the Parking Lot Guidelines. These guidelines were sent home a few weeks ago and can also be found on the Bower website.
ILLINOIS ASSESSMENT OF READINESS (IAR) will be given to all 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students starting on Wednesday April 10th through Tuesday April 16th. It is extremely important for students to be in attendance for these assessments so please try to schedule avoidable absences around these dates. While we recognize this is only a small measure of what is taught in schools each year, it is important for students to do their best on these exams. Teachers have been preparing students and parents can help by encouraging their children to do well and sending them to school well rested and ready to do their best.
March 1st / No School – Institute Day
March 13th / Kindergarten Roundup (Presentation starts at 6:30 in the large lunchroom)
March 20th / Family Reading Night
March 24th - March 29 / No School - Spring Break
I hope all of you are able to enjoy the extended weekend this week and students come to school next Monday well rested and ready for a full week of school. I would also like to thank all of our Bower families and our staff members for being so generous with their time and talents. Everyone is invested in the growth and success of all our children. Within the Bower community, we all work together “inspiring within everyone a passion to excel”.
Thank you for your commitment to all our children.
