I wanted to take a brief moment to welcome you to Jefferson Early Childhood Center. The team and I are very excited to be part of your child’s day!  I am starting my 15th year as a part of the Jefferson family.  
     My name is Mrs. Krista.  I am originally from Indianapolis, Indiana.  I taught all-day Kindergarten for eight years, and still have family there and like to visit.  My husband, and high school sweetheart, passed away in 2017. We were together 28 years. We moved to Wheaton, Illinois in 2005.  We chose Wheaton because some of my husband’s family is within walking distance of an amazing support system. 

   I am truly passionate about students ages 3,4, and 5.  I feel I've been a teacher since I was 13 and babysitting, camp counselor, Assistant camp director at 17.  Education is not just my passion, it is my calling.  I love BIG 10 sports and can be somewhat competitive in traditional rivalries.  I have a Bassett hound named Archie who is the unofficial classroom mascot.  I also enjoy reading, walking with Archie on the Prairie Path, cycling, and Yoga.   I cannot wait to create a playful learning environment for you and your children so they can develop and grow as a classroom community.
