Chromebook Tech Support


  • Troubleshooting Tips: Try these first!

    • Restart your Chromebook: click the menu in the bottom right hand corner and then click Shut Down button  Power Button  
      • Screen black?  Restart by pressing and holding the power button on the left side of your Chromebook. Wait 30 seconds before powering back on.

    • Clear Cache and Cookies (saved data from websites you visited): In Chrome, click the 3 dots in the top right corner. Under More Tools/ Clear Browsing Data select all boxes and Clear Data.

    • Uninstall Extensions not essential for class: In Chrome, click the 3 dots in the top right corner. Under More Tools/ Extensions browse your extensions and click to remove extras.

    • Close open tabs not needed during class. If there is streaming in a tab (videos or music) close it! this could affect your Meet or Zoom by using bandwith.

    • Check your wifi strength: menu at bottom right hand corner Wifi  If low (less than half) move closer to your router.

    Improving Chromebook Performance

    • Power Down Every Night: Perform a full shutdown of your Chromebook to clear resources running and to update your Chromebook upon restarting. 

    • Preserve Your Battery: Limit streaming video or playing video games, turn down your screen brightness, turn off bluetooth, unplug other devices charging from your Chromebook.
