Troubleshooting Tips: Try these first!
- Restart your Chromebook: click the menu in the bottom right hand corner and then click Shut Down button
- Screen black? Wake your chromebook up by pressing and holding the power button on the left side of your Chromebook at the same time as the refresh key
on your keyboard.

- Clear Cache and Cookies (saved data from websites you visited): In Chrome, click the 3 dots in the top right corner. Under More Tools/ Clear Browsing Data select all boxes and Clear Data.
- Uninstall Extensions not essential for class: In Chrome, click the 3 dots in the top right corner. Under More Tools/ Extensions browse your extensions and click to remove extras.
- Close open tabs not needed during class. If there is streaming in a tab (videos or music) close it! this could affect your Meet or Zoom by using bandwith.
- Check your wifi strength: menu at bottom right hand corner
If low (less than half) move closer to your router.
Improving Chromebook Performance
- Power Down Every Night: Perform a full shutdown of your Chromebook to clear resources running and to update your Chromebook upon restarting.
- Preserve Your Battery: Limit streaming video or playing video games, turn down your screen brightness, turn off bluetooth, unplug other devices charging from your Chromebook.
