    Mr. Mike Klos is a band director in the Community Unit School District 200 in Wheaton, Illinois. Since 2015, he has taught fifth grade beginning band at six elementary schools and also serves as the assistant jazz band director at Wheaton North High School, directing the Falcon Jazz Band and jazz combos. He also co-directs the District 200 middle school Summer Band Program, and is on staff with the Wheaton North High School Falcon Marching Band.

    Mike came to Wheaton from Braidwood, Illinois where he spent four years in the Reed-Custer Community School District 255 as the elementary and middle school band director. His responsibilities included directing the 7th/8th Grade Symphonic Band, 6th Grade Concert Band, directing the Panther Marching Band, Panther Jazz Ensemble, 5th Grade Cadet Band, 5th Grade Chorus, and instructing 4th/5th grade general music.

    Prior to teaching in Braidwood, Mike began his teaching career in 2010 as the Director of Jazz Ensembles at Benet Academy in Lisle, Illinois where he directed the Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combo, and Jazz Band. He also assisted with the concert bands and Marching Redwings.

    Mike received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois and his Master of Arts in Education degree from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois. While at Illinois State, Mike was a member of the Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, Madrigal Brass Quintet, Men’s Glee Choir and The Big Red Marching Machine. His professional affiliations include the National Association for Music Education, Illinois Music Educators Association, National Band Association, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity.

    Mike is a graduate of Naperville Central High School (2005) in Naperville, Illinois and currently resides in Geneva, Illinois with his wife Julia and his three children Brady, Lucy, and Ellie.
