Dr. Mary Davis

Greetings Jefferson Jets,

My name is Dr. Mary Davis and I’m honored to be the Principal of Jefferson Early Childhood Center.  This school holds a special place in my heart as I’ve been blessed to be a teacher, leader, and parent here at Jefferson over the last 15+ years.

As a former Jefferson Early Childhood Special Education Teacher, I worked alongside my administration, team, students, and their families to see each child as an individual and help them learn and grow. Teaching at Jefferson is among some of my fondest memories as an educator and shaped my leadership style as well as my parenting skills.

As a former Director of Special Education in District 200, I had the pleasure of supporting a variety of programs at all levels including Kindergarten through High School+. This experience provided me with a unique, districtwide lens which is very helpful to me as the principal where it all begins for our youngest learners in D200!

As a former parent of a Jefferson Jet, I saw firsthand how dedicated the staff were to helping my child thrive and how important early intervention was in his educational success.  The staff were highly effective, communicative, supportive, and simply LOVED my child; I believe every parent should experience this at Jefferson Early Childhood Center.

I am enthusiastic about returning to my roots and prepared to share my skills, passion, and love for early childhood education with the incredible District 200 community.  During my tenure as an educator, I have learned that our youngest students and families benefit from student centered classrooms, dynamic teaming approaches, developmentally appropriate curriculum, inclusion opportunities, and collaborative partnerships with families and agencies.  These are my commitments to you as Principal of Jefferson Early Childhood Center.

Thank you for trusting me with your child’s education,

Principal Mary
