I am excited to be teaching English at WN after many years in District 200 at Franklin Middle School as a Language Arts and Social Studies teacher. I hold a bachelor's degree in public relations from Illinois State University, and I spent several years as the Director of Marketing and Communications for a Networking Products company. I went back to school and earned my masters in the art of teaching secondary education from National Louis University. In addition, I hold a masters degree in curriculum and instruction and certification as a reading specialist for grades 6-12 and middle grades certification.
I grew up in Wheaton, attending Pleasant Hill, Franklin, and Wheaton North. I still live in Wheaton with my husband, a WN graduate, and our two sons, both graduates of WN. One of the perks of teaching in the community where I live is to be able to see so many students navigate through WN, work at local businesses and become adults. In my spare time, you might find me at the library, the French Market or biking on the Prairie Path. I enjoy reading, watching movies and being active outdoors with my family.
