Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Michele Foster

Welcome to first grade!  I am so glad that you are here!  This will be such an exciting year of learning and growth for your child - academically, socially, and emotionally.  I am looking forward to partnering with you on this journey!  I grew up in Wheaton and am a graduate of District 200 schools - Whittier, Edison, and Wheaton Central.  I graduated from the University of Iowa with a BA in Elementary Education specializing in Early Childhood Education.  After graduating, I taught kindergarten at White Eagle Elementary in Naperville's Indian Prairie School District 204 for 5 years.  I was then blessed to be able to stay home with my boys for several years!  This is my 9th year at Bower.  I taught kindergarten here for 6 years and this is my third year in first grade!  I recently completed my Reading Specialist MA at Olivet Nazarene University.  I have been inspired by the many reading strategies I have learned and implemented during my studies to help your child continue to learn, grow, and most importantly, to LOVE reading!  I live in Wheaton with my husband Rob, our two sons, Nick (a freshman at Western IL) and Michael (a junior at Wheaton Warrenville South), and our yellow lab Monty.  I am looking forward to an amazing year of fun and learning with your child!
