Itinerant Speech and Language Services
Itinerant speech and language therapy services are typically provided 1-2 times a week, within a small group setting. Parents have the choice of having services delivered through a tuition free classroom placement (3 or 4 days per week) or have their child attend as a “walk in” student:

  • Students who attend a classroom placement benefit from a robust, language-based Early Childhood Program in addition to their speech therapy.  Bussing is available or parents can choose to drive.  Morning or afternoon classes are offered Tu-Th or Tu-Fri for 2.5 hours per day.

  • Students who attend “walk In” speech attend Jefferson for only their weekly IEP minutes and therapy will be provided by a Jefferson SLP within a small group classroom setting.  “Walk In” parents are required to stay onsite either in the foyer or in their car during therapy.

*All services are based upon a child's needs identified through an evaluation

*A child does NOT have to be toilet trained to receive any special education services.
