Battle of the Books | 4th and 5th-grade students read and compete against other Wheaton schools. Parent volunteers help with weekly lunchtime study sessions. | |
Beautification | Help keep Wiesbrook looking beautiful. Be willing to assist with basic groundskeeping projects (weeding, planting, etc.) beyond what the district provides. No experience is required. | |
Chess Club | Coordinate and plan with a 3rd-party provider to offer an on-site club to teach fundamental chess techniques, rules, and matches. All skill levels are welcome. | |
Conference Dinner | Coordinate, purchase, and set up (2) on-site dinners for our teachers during the October parent-teacher conferences. | |
Cultural Arts | Help enrich our student’s educational experience by researching, scheduling, and assisting with staff-approved on-site assemblies. | |
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Liaison | Act as our local district liaison to support district-wide DEI initiatives. | |
Explore More Day | Coordinate a day-long school event consisting of mini-sessions featuring careers, sports, arts, hobbies, etc. | |
Fall Foliage & Spring Flower Fundraiser | Wiesbrook is excited to be offering two volunteer events - A Fall Foliage AND Spring Flower Fundraiser. We will be partnering with We Grow Dreams. They are a local, non-profit organization that provides job training and employment to local residence with disabilities | |
Family Art Night | Enrich art awareness through this family event, where volunteers assist Wiesbrook family members with fun art projects. | |
Fifth Grade Finale | Coordinate the 5th graders' final year with special activities, including a year-end party, class t-shirt, and preparing the memory book/video. | |
Fit Club | Supporting our student's health and fitness, this program runs before school 4 Fridays before the Tiger Trot. It is an energetic and fun way for students to be active and build endurance. | |
Game Club | Game Club will allow students (K-5) to enhance social skills by playing games (board, card, etc.) with others, meeting new friends, collaborating in groups, following the rules, learning good sportsmanship and having FUN! Each week will have a new theme for games! Kids & Parents have the option to sign up for 1 month at a time. | |
Girls Night Out | Our girls bring their special someone for a fun night. | |
Green Club | Help bring environmental awareness to our Wiesbrook students. Volunteers help coordinate different learning events and activities. | |
Head Room Parent Chairs | Oversees the activities of all the room parents and acts as a liaison between them and the PTA Board. Help Room Parents with directions, dates, and questions related to their specific parties and school-wide events. | |
Health and Wellness | Support our student’s health by assisting during our on-site Vision and Hearing screening tests. | |
Holiday Shoppe | This is a chance for our Tigers to holiday shop @ Wiesbrook. Shoppe items are sold at cost, and 5th-grade volunteers help our youngest shoppers select, purchase, and wrap items. | |
Hospitality | Organize volunteers to provide refreshments for a variety of on-site events. | |
Ice Cream Social | This family event is our Back-to-School Ice Cream Social held on-site at the start of the school year, where students can meet their teachers and drop off supplies. Help plan, purchase, and distribute sweet treats. | |
Junior Great Books | Lunchtime reading enrichment program for grades 2-5. Introduces students to different forms of literature through reading and discussion. Volunteers lead small groups for 1hour a week for 8 weeks (January-March). | |
LLC Bookworms | Work with the LLC director to help check out/ in books, keep the library organized, with special projects, and with the Book Fair. | |
Power Paws | Supporting our community is important, and this service group helps promote good character in all our students. Volunteers help identify and facilitate work projects and activities for the students to participate in both school and the community. | |
PTA Directory | Compile and maintain the online school directory, released in early Fall. The position is typically held by the VP of Membership. | |
Reflections | Coordinate at Wiesbrook this National PTA program that provides students an opportunity to express themselves creatively through art, literature, dance, or music. A new theme is announced each year. | |
STEAM Club | STEAM club is an after school club for 3rd-5th graders. Each month a different person leads a new part of the acronym- Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. Students have the option to sign up just for the months they are interested in. Commitment could be as little as one month/topic. | |
School Kits | School supply shopping is made simple. Coordinate school supply lists with 3rd party to create pre-packaged supply kits. | |
Son + 1 Dance | A night of memories for sons and their special someone to enjoy dancing, yard games, and art. | |
Son VIP Night | Sons bring their VIP to a fun night of dodgeball, basketball, soccer, legos, and more. | |
Spirit Wear | Show your Wiesbrook Pride! Help coordinate the design, selling dates, and distribution of Spirit Wear items. | |
Teacher Appreciation | We love our school staff, and we show it. Organize a week-long celebration in May, honoring our amazing teachers and staff. | |
Tiger Picnic | Kick off the school year with a Wiesbrook family outdoor dinner event. | |
Tiger Trot Community Fundraiser | Wiesbrook gives back to its community. Organize this 5K run and 1-mile fun run through our Wiesbrook neighborhoods. Help promote the event via school and community outreach. On-site volunteers help with check-in, refreshments, and keeping the course safe and fun. | |
Tough Tiger Fundraiser | Our students raise money and build their strength by participating in a fun and competitive obstacle designed by our amazing PE teachers. | |
Trivia Night Fundraiser | Put our Wiesbrook parent’s knowledge to the test. Proceeds from this FUNdraiser support our PTA. | |
Welcome Committee | Acting as our school liaison, help welcome our newest Wiesbrook families by providing guidance and answering questions. | |
Yearbook | Compile, edit, and organize the production of Wiesbrook's annual yearbook (including taking pictures at events throughout the year). Each grade level needs a coordinator and parent photographers. |
