History of Wiesbrook
The name Wiesbrook came from a family whose farm was in the area. Our current school is actually the third “ Wiesbrook School”. The first one was located at the corner of Wiesbrook Road and Butterfield Road. It burned in 1939. The second was built on Wiesbrook Road. Both were one room schools with grades 1-8 initially and 1-6 later. In 1946 there were only 10 students. Mothers took turns cooking hot lunches for the children. After World War II the area began to change and by the 1960’s there was such growth that another school needed to be built. Our current school was built in 1960 and it too, has undergone some renovations to make it the beautiful place it is today.
