We Love Our Washington Staff!
One of PTA’s goals is to support and build the sense of community that is a critical component of an effective learning environment. Some schools wait until May for National Educator Appreciation Week; but at Washington, we prefer an ongoing campaign of thanks for our outstanding staff. This year, we’ve started with a Welcome Back to School Breakfast on August 25. Thank you to Megan Chapman and Barb Kading, Staff Appreciation Co-Chairs, for creating a tasty and beautiful start to the new year. In September, we wished staffers a MUM-derful autumn with beautiful potted mums awarded to seven lucky winners through a random drawing. More fun is already on the schedule and in the works!
Staff members, please mark your calendars for these additional extra-special days:
- October 12 -- PTA Staff Dinner during Parent Teacher Conferences
- November 13 -- PTA Staff Appreciation Fall Lunch
- May 11 – National Educator Appreciation Week Lunch
- December/date to be determined -- A Holiday Gift Wrapping Service Event where PTA volunteers will beautifully check this task off our Washington Staff Members’ holiday to-do lists. Details will be forthcoming.
Families, as you can imagine, creating these events for our 60-member staff requires many helpful hands. If you can assist with any or all of the upcoming events, please click Staff Appreciation Volunteer Sign Ups to add your name to the list.
