It's the Great Pumpkin Contest at Washington School!
Taking inspiration from favorite books, Washington students are invited to transform ordinary pumpkins into something truly spook-tacular! There will be no entirely expected carved Jack-O-Lanterns for us. In fact, there will be no carving at all (in the interest of safety and ensuring our pumpkins last for a weeklong display in Washington’s LLC). Students are invited to recreate their favorite characters or stories in pumpkins using markers, paint, art supplies or anything found in or around home. Pumpkins and completed entry forms are due to Washington School by 9:00AM on Monday, October 23. Pumpkins will be on display for the duration of book fair. Students and faculty will cast their votes on Book Fair’s Preview Day on Tuesday, October 24; and six winning pumpkins will be chosen. Winners will be announced at the October 24 PTA Meeting and during the morning announcements on October 25. Creators of the winning entries will receive book fair gift certificates. Additional information and entry forms will be coming home by backpack in the week of October 2.
