Wheaton North Hires Dance Coach, Alexandra Strahanoski

Ms. Strahanoski comes to us from Joliet Central High School where she has taught and coached the past 4 years. Ms. Strahanoski, also known as Ms. Strah or Coach Strah, has been enthusiastically involved in the dance world for 20 years and counting. She has studied and taught jazz, pom, hip-hop, ballet, and lyrical/contemporary to students from beginners through the collegiate level. Coach Strah spent 4 years on her high school dance team, was a UDA Staffer, and a 3-year member of the Illinettes Dance Team in college, including a performance in the St. Patrick's day parade in Dublin, Ireland.

Alex has her BA in English and Secondary Education from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign and her Masters in English from Northern Illinois University. Above all, Alex believes that dance is an art form and a sport that allows each participant to express his/her feelings, athletic ability, and connect with audiences. As Athletic Director, I’m excited for Coach Strahanoski to be part of the Wheaton North High School and looking forward to her leading our Dance Team. Welcome Coach Strah!!!
