Teachers never stop learning! This year, in partnership with the WWEA, the District is implementing a New Teacher Mentoring Program! All new certified staff members will be paired with formal mentor who will assist them in adapting to the school climate and culture and guiding them through curriculum, teaching strategies, communication skills, and more. Cindy has many fond memories that span her 32 years in the District. She really loved all of the college students that worked with her during the summers. Marcia has enjoyed her many conversations with incredible children. She has sparked hundreds of teachers and children to understand the importance of creativity and its impact on learning through programs and museum exhibits that she has developed. Marcia is looking forward to creating art and keeping her house clean when she retires. She has loved every minute of working with the staff and children at Lowell Elementary School. It has been an incredible way for her to end her career.

Robert feels lucky to have been able to work at the same school that he attended and to have so many of the teachers that taught him as colleagues. He has enjoyed making connections with so many students over the years and hopes that they are able to use some of the lessons he taught them throughout their lives. Robert plans to live, laugh, and enjoy every day in retirement.

One of Deborah’s favorite memories is when Edison’s 8th graders participated in Legacy Day as it encouraged students to look outside of themselves and help others and benefit the community. She cherishes being able to make connections with students and encourage them in becoming responsible young adults. In retirement, Deborah plans to enjoy more time with her family and the freedom to travel. She is also looking forward to helping others through her church. She says that it has been a wonderful experience and a privilege to work in District 200.
