Committee Descriptions

The Monroe PTA is always looking for volunteers! Some committees are year-round commitments whereas others are one-time only. Whatever time you can spend volunteering or chairing a committee is greatly appreciated. We can't be successful without your help!

 Please consider how you can help our school community!

Cook's Night Out  - Coordinate with local restaurants where Monroe families can dine on select days/times and a percentage of sales is donated back to Monroe PTA. (Ongoing) 

Council Delegate - Council delegates represent Monroe PTA at Wheaton Warrenville PTA Council meetings and provide updates on council level news and events to the Monroe PTA.

Directory -Chairperson obtains student information from District 200 officials and uploads information into a PTA purchased app; once completed, distributes information on how to access directory to PTA membership via various methods of school communication.  (Fall - one-time commitment).  

Eighth Grade Brunch - Coordinate volunteers to set up and serve brunch for eighth grade students. Solicit food and beverage donations from eighth grade families, purchase decorations and collect photos for memory slideshow/wall. (May - June - one-time commitment) 

Fall Fundraiser - Work with PTA to manage promotion of the sale and coordinate volunteers for turn in days & highest earners celebration. (August - October, one-time commitment)

Health Screenings - Volunteers are needed to help on these screening days at school. Help get students to and from screenings. (Fall - vision/hearing, Spring - dental)

Hospitality - Provide food and beverages for the Board of Education meeting held at Monroe, Schedule Pick Up in August and other school functions.

Membership - Collect and track membership dues throughout the year. Turn money into Treasurer monthly. (Ongoing)

Reflections - Promote and coordinate entries for this Nationally-sponsored fine arts competition which gives students an opportunity for creative expression in art, photography and music. (Ongoing through Fall) 

Schedule Pick-Up Day - Schedule volunteers to staff PTA table, Spirit Wear table and other stations over two days in August. (One-time commitment) 

Scholarship - Select from recipients given to the PTA of former Monroe students who are graduating from WNHS. Also participate in the selection of finalists for the scholarships awarded by the WWPTAC. (Spring, over several days)

Special Needs Liaison - Liaision represents Monroe PTA at Wheaton Warrenville Special Needs PTA meetings and provides updates on news and events to Monroe PTA.

Spirit Wear Sales - Coordinate, sell and distribute Monroe apparel. Distribute information to Monroe feeder elementary schools in the Spring. (Ongoing but primarily in the Fall and Spring) 

Staff Appreciation - Provide special recognition to the staff by organizing meals/events to acknowledge their contributions to our students. (Ongoing) 

Website­ - Work with PTA Leadership to provide updated information on the PTA webpage. (Ongoing)
