Lunch Process
Students will participate in our weekly grocery shopping CBI.
Once a week, students will have a CBI outing where they will have a meal at a restaurant.
Students must grocery shop or bring a lunch to Transition following the MyPlate guidelines.
What are the MyPlate recommendations?
Plenty of colorful vegetables, legumes/beans.
Fruit.
Grain (cereal) foods – mostly wholegrain and high fiber varieties.
Lean meats and poultry, fish, eggs, tofu, nuts, and seeds.
Milk, yogurt, cheese, or their alternatives, mostly reduced fat.
Drink plenty of water.
MyPlate reminds us to:
Choose variety: The best meals have a balance of items from different food groups.
Make half of your plate vegetables and fruits.
Make at least half of your grain servings whole grains.
Drink fat-free or low-fat (1%) milk and water instead of soda, sports drinks, and other sugary drinks.
Avoid large portions.
We encourage all of our young adults to drink water or sparkling water during the school day at Transition (No soda or pop).
