Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR)

This Illinois test of English Language Arts and Math is administered to students online every spring over multiple days. The district uses scores from IAR as one of several data points when making decisions about school improvement and student needs.

PSAT  

The PSAT assessments were developed by SAT to track progress toward College & Career Readiness in English, Math, and Reading,.

District 200 uses this data to inform students of their progress, make school improvement decisions, and to serve as one data point for student-course placement.

The district funds PSAT for students in eighth grade. For freshmen and sophomores in high school, it is a state-funded and mandated assessment. Scores are used to inform placement, provide data for school improvement work, and help families plan for the future.

SAT Plus Writing

The SAT measures College & Career Readiness in English, math, reading, and writing and is accepted by most colleges and universities as a part of the admissions process.

The State of Illinois requires that all high school juniors take SAT.

Advanced Placement

(AP)

Students take AP tests at the end of Advanced Placement courses, which District 200 offers in a wide variety of subjects.

A score of “3” or higher on an AP test can be used toward course credit at many colleges and universities.

FastBridge

FastBridge is a nationally normed, research-based assessment of reading, math, and social-emotional learning. Please see the assessment calendars linked below for the specific tests administered to students at each grade level.

K - 8

Illinois Science Assessment (ISA)

The Illinois Science Assessment is required by the state of Illinois once during each level (elementary, middle school, and high school). Students take the test online in the spring.

Early Childhood Assessments

District 200 instruction is aligned to the Illinois Early Learning and Development Standards.

Ongoing assessment using GOLD measures student progress on 38 indicators.

Data is used to make decisions about student programming and to guide instruction at the classroom, school, and district levels.

ACCESS for ELs  

This test of proficiency in the English domains of listening, speaking, reading, and writing was designed by a national consortium and has been mandated as an accountability measure by the State of Illinois for English Learners (ELs).

District 200 has developed rigorous growth norms and a system for identifying gaps in the domains of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.  Data is used to exit students from the EL program and to guide instruction at the classroom, school, and district levels.

K - 12  

Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM)  

Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM) is the required state assessment for a small group of students with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP)  for whom regular state assessments are not appropriate.
