Parent Speaker Event: Keeping Kids Cyber Safe

On November 6, 2024 Detective Rich Wistocki (see biography below) presented an insightful session for CUSD 200 families at Hubble Middle School, attended by about 60 parents. During this two-hour presentation, Detective Wistocki shared crucial guidance on protecting children online and responsible parenting around digital device use. The session was highly engaging, with parents actively participating and asking questions.

In his presentation, Detective Wistocki addressed key topics, including:

  • Predators on social networks

  • Cyberstalking

  • Sextortion

  • Cyberbullying

  • Sexting

  • Responding to online threats

  • Strategies and tools to protect children online

He also dedicated an additional 30 minutes to answer questions from parents, offering personalized advice and deeper insights.
