Dr. Jeff Schuler has served as superintendent of Community Unit School District 200 since September 2014. Under his leadership, the district has developed three strategic plans and created its Portrait of a Graduate, guiding the long-term vision for student success. He also oversaw a decade-long initiative to address infrastructure needs, placing the district on a sustainable path with safe, efficient, and modern facilities. This effort culminated in the successful passage of a $151.5 million referendum to renovate and improve three middle schools.
Dr. Schuler is an active leader in statewide education organizations. He serves on the leadership team for the DuPage Region of the Illinois Association of School Administrators (IASA), previously served as President of LUDA (the Large Unit District Association), and currently serves as chair of LEND, DuPage County’s legislative advocacy group. In recognition of his leadership, in 2025 he was named the DuPage Region Superintendent of Distinction by IASA.
Engaged in the community, Dr. Schuler is a member of the Lions Club and the Wheaton Chamber of Commerce. He has also shared his expertise in higher education as adjunct faculty at Loyola University, Aurora University and Northern Illinois University.
Before joining CUSD 200, Dr. Schuler served as superintendent of Kaneland School District 302 from 2010 to 2014, after previously working as Kaneland’s assistant superintendent for human resources. He began his career as a gifted education teacher at Joyce Kilmer Elementary School in Wheeling, later teaching middle school and serving as a middle school principal in Northbrook School District 27.
Dr. Schuler holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Indiana University, a master’s degree in educational administration from Illinois State University, and a doctorate in educational leadership and policy from Northern Illinois University. He is a frequent presenter and contributor to educational conferences and publications.
