Welcome Back

Dear CUSD 200 Families,

As we start the 2025-26 school year, I want to extend a warm welcome back to each and every one of you. The start of a new school year is always a special time—a fresh start filled with new opportunities, new friendships and new goals.

One of the great gifts of education is that each year gives students a clean slate and a chance to grow academically, socially and personally. Whether your child is beginning their very first day of school or is stepping into their senior year, this moment is a new beginning. It’s an opportunity to dream big, set new goals and challenges and embrace the journey of learning with curiosity and enthusiasm.

Our staff have been working diligently over the summer to create welcoming environments where every student feels a sense of belonging and excitement about the year ahead. From updated classrooms, our Middle School Capital Referendum Projects, new programs and resources, we are ready to support your child’s learning and personal growth in every way possible.

At CUSD 200, we deeply value relationships and the partnerships we share with students and our families. Your partnership and involvement is key to your child’s success. I encourage you to stay connected—ask questions, participate in school events, and engage with your child about their school day. Together, we can foster an environment where every student is supported, encouraged and empowered to reach their full potential.

Open Communication and Support
We are committed to maintaining open and transparent two-way communication with our families. If you have questions or need assistance, we want you to know exactly where to turn. We’ve created a simple guide outlining who to contact at every school level.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out—we value you and welcome your input as we work together to support your student’s success.

I’d also like to share how we communicate with our families. Our principals send newsletters to families weekly or bimonthly and the District emails a digital newsletter every other Thursday. On the Thursdays following a Wednesday Board of Education meeting, you’ll receive highlights from the meeting, including links to reports and a YouTube recording. Finally, I encourage you to stay connected by following us on our social media channels, all linked here: Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and our website, which serves as a hub for all of our content, social media and public documents.

As we begin this new year together, I want to thank you for your continued partnership and trust. Let’s make this school year a fresh start filled with meaningful connections and growth for every student.

Welcome back to school!

Sincerely,
Dr. Jeff Schuler
Superintendent
