We are back with our Classroom Close-Up feature where we take a look at what students are currently learning in the classroom! This week we visited Ms.Shannon Worcester's fifth grade PACE classroom at Lincoln Elementary School.
In PACE math, students have been working with rational numbers, learning how to navigate complex equations using both numerical and algebraic expressions. To put their skills to the test, the class spent the week working through a series of word problems that were actually written by former PACE students! As students solved the problems, they were challenged to articulate their thinking. By working in pairs, they demonstrated their problem-solving processes through written work, verbal explanations, and demonstrations at the whiteboard.
As students worked on strengthening their math skills, it was great to see them also building their confidence as they shared their ideas and supported one another through the process. #YourCommunitySchools
